LWC volleyball takes on CU at home tonight

The No. 10-ranked Lindsey Wilson volleyball team returns to action tonight to face Campbellsville (Ky.) at 6:30pmCT at Biggers Sports Center, 360 Spickard Drive, Columbia, KY.

This marks the 52nd meeting between the Blue Raiders and the Tigers. Lindsey Wilson leads the all-time series 27-24.



In their last match, the Blue Raiders (12-3, 4-1 MSC) defeated Fisk (Tenn.) on the road in three-sets. Lindsey Wilson was led on offense by Kasia Niderla with 15 kills, and Camryn Rich with 17 assists. On defense, Lauren Larzelere lead the team with 13 digs, while Niderla lead the team with four total blocks.

The Blue Raiders are led on offense this season by Niderla, who ranks first in the NAIA in hitting percentage (.438). Niderla also ranks second in the Mid-South Conference averaging 4.2 kills/set. Autumn Proctor leads Lindsey Wilson with 283 assists, while Rich has recorded 172 assists in her freshman season.

On defense, Lindsey Wilson is led by Peyton Johnston who has recorded 241 digs this season, which is fifth best in the Mid-South Conference. Niderla leads the team with 52 total blocks, which is seventh best in the Mid-South Conference.

In the 2019 Mid-South Conference preseason poll, Campbellsville (11-6, 2-3 MSC) was named co-favorites with Lindsey Wilson to win the conference title. The last match for the Tigers ended in a three-set defeat to Mid-South Conference foe Cumberland (Tenn.) on Sept. 17.

Campbellsville is led on offense this season by Sutton Mason who has recorded 151 kills, along with 30 service aces which ranks first in the Mid-South Conference. Paige Merrick has recorded 579 assists, which ranks second in the Mid-South Conference.

On defense, the Tigers are led by Jaimie Thompson who has tallied 343 digs which is second best in the Mid-South Conference. Stela Velinova has a team high 31 total blocks this season.
