Billy Wayne Perdue, 87, Russell Springs, KY (1932-2019)

Billy Wayne Perdue of Russell Springs passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at his home. He was 87 years old.

The funeral service for Billy Wayne Perdue will be held at 11amCT on Wednesday, September 25, 2019, at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N. Main St., Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Scott Eubanks officiating. Interment will follow in the Russell County Memorial Gardens with full military honors by the Russell County Honor Guard.

Visitation is requested from 3pmCT until 8pmCT on Tuesday, and after 8amCT on Wednesday until funeral time at 11amCT.


He was born February 9, 1932 in Portland, Tennessee to the late Mack & Amy Hobdy Perdue.

He was a Veteran of US Army, a member of Jamestown Church of Christ and retired from Western Electric.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah May Perdue; 6 siblings Ivy Ashbrooks, Gladys Vance, M. C. Perdue, Thelma Millick, Bobby Perdue, Ann Richardson

Surviors include:
  • Two daughters: Laretta Pierce, Russell Springs, and Sue Popplewell, Louisville
  • Three grandchiildren: Kim Popplewell, Craig (Ashlea) Pierce, Derek (Ariel) Popplewell
  • Seven great grandchildren: Montanna & Hunter Grider, Ben & Kaylen Pierce, Ethan & Briley Jones, Jaden McCullough
  • Three sisters: Wilma Reeder, Indianapolis, Maxine Owens, Indianapolis, and Glenda Lynch, Georgia
Active Pallbearers: Craig Pierce, Derek Popplewell, Ethan Jones, Bradley Jones, Troy Downey, Hunter Grider

Honorary Pallbearers: Dwight Gossage, Ronnie Sullivan
