LWC Women's Golf in 2nd at Blue Raider Classic

The Lindsey Wilson women's golf team carded a 317 in their first round of the Blue Raider Classic to sit just one stroke off the lead of the two-day tournament.

Asbury (KY) is in first place after scoring a 316 at the par-72, 5,864-yard course while Union (KY) is in third after a 324 stroke opening round.


Dacie Bolton fired the low Blue Raider score of the day after she carded a two-over-par 74 stroke round. She tallied five birdies during her round to sit in second place and two strokes off the pace set by tournament leader Whitney Messer of Union.

Claire McLaughlin shot a six-over-par 78 to finish her round in sixth place. Zofia Wojcik finished in 14th with an 82 as LWC teammates Megan Mann and Tara Rodenhurst finished just behind in a tie for 15th with 83 stroke rounds.

The Blue Raiders wrap up play Tuesday morning with the final round of golf being played at 8:30amCT at The Pines.
