KSP provides training to statewide drug taskforce agencies By Sergeant Josh Lawson Lexington, KY - Kentucky State Police hosted a TruNarc training for law enforcement agencies from across the state at the Drug Enforcement Special Investigations (DESI) Office on August 15, 2019. KSP received a grant made possible through the Kentucky Office of Drug Control Policy (ODCP). This grant provided new lifesaving analysis equipment to all Drug Task Agencies present at the training. In an effort to safely combat the increasing drug problem across the Commonwealth, these Thermo Scientific TruNarc Handheld Narcotics Analyzers enable law enforcement officers to scan suspected controlled substances in a single, definitive test. Kentucky State Police Central Forensic Laboratory Supervisor, Jeremy Triplett said the TruNarc represents a dramatic improvement in technology for presumptive roadside testing of possible drugs.
