Farmers Market Week proclaimed in Adair County

Proclamation:

Whereas farmers, local artists/craftsmen, and local small businesses are the backbone of our community and have contributed to the development and well-being of Adair County since the earliest formation of Adair County;



Whereas the farm industry, local artists and craftsmen and local small businesses are a major industry in Adair County, a significant contribution to the economy of our county, and

Whereas Home grown and raised foods provide health benefits and valuable nutrients and superior quality and the sales support local families, and

Whereas local crafted goods sales support local artists and small business owners in our community and help support local families; and

Whereas the celebration of Farmers Market Week, highlighting the local farmers, local artists, craftsman and local small businesses will occur August 4, 2019 through August 10, 2019.

Now, therefore, I, Gale Cowan, Judge Executive of Adair County, do hereby proclaim the week as a celebration of Farmers Market Week and I call upon the government agencies and the people of Adair County to observe the week with appropriate programs and activities.

Farmers Market Week is proclaimed in the state and locally to spotlight farmers, local artists/craftsmen, and local small businesses - the backbone of the community, having contributed to the development and well-being of Adair County since the earliest formation of the county. Included in the picture are: Darrell Bunnell, market president; Judge Executive Gale Cowan; vice president Darrell Andrew, market coordinator Donna Jones, Tim Blackaby, David Burris and young Andrew David Miller, Dan and Brandy Held, Tom Frazier, Kellis Booth and daughters Cadence and Kennedy. Farmers Market on the Square is held each Wednesday and Saturday at the corner of Merchant and Campbellsville Streets in Columbia, KY.
