Youth Theatre to present The Adventures of Tom Sawyer

COLUMBIA, KY - TheatreFest!'s IMAGINE! Youth Theatre at Lindsey Wilson College will present the musical adaptation of Mark Twain's classic story The Adventures of Tom Sawyer July 18-21.

The classic Mark Twain story jumps off of the page in this adaptation of America's favorite book. The Adventures of Tom Sawyer is directed by TheatreFest! Associate Artistic Director Jeremy Cloyd and will be performed at 7pmCT July 18-20 and at 2pmCT Sunday, July 21 in V.P. Henry Auditorium.

For ticket information contact Artistic Director of TheatreFest! Robert Brock at brockr@lindsey.edu or visit www.theatrefest.org.

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer is the irresistible story of a fourteen-year-old boy growing up in the heartland of America, based on the classic novel. Filled with foot-stomping, toe-tapping songs by Don Schlitz and a book by Ken Ludwig, this musical adventure is a tale of thrilling escapes, comedy and inspiration for the whole family.

"Mr. Ludwig's book does a nifty job of condensing the novel, maintaining its episodic character but cleverly joining elements from different scenes to keep the narrative bobbing along. ...Mr. Schlitz, a Grammy-winning composer of country songs (including "The Gambler"), has written a handful of winning tunes."

- The New York Times

This classic tale is brought to life by young actors from our very own community as part of TheatreFest!'s IMAGINE Youth Theatre day camp that has run throughout the summer. You won't want to miss all the fun with the IMAGINE! students July 18-21. Be sure to make reservations today by emailing brockr@lindsey.edu or calling 270-384-8044.
