Flash flood watch through Sunday, today's high 77F It's currently 68F at the Adair County Mesonet station. The National Weather Service is advising that flash flooding is possible across Central Kentucky this weekend, and has issued a flash flood watch through Sunday evening. A slow moving upper level low pressure system combined with tropical moisture will result in widespread shower and thunderstorm activity today through the upcoming weekend. Steering currents in the atmosphere are expected to be rather weak and any thunderstorm will move very slowly and will be able to produce a lot of rainfall in a short period of time. Total rainfall amounts of 2-3 inches are expected across the region. However, localized amounts of 4-6 inches will be possible which will lead to flash flooding in some spots. Expect showers today, with thunderstorms also possible after 8amCT. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. High near 77F, with northeast wind 5 to 9 mph. The chance of precipitation is 80%, with new rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible. Showers remain likely tonight, and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Cloudy, with a low around 67F, and northeast wind 8 to 10 mph. The chance of precipitation overnight is 60%. There is a 90% change of showers again Saturday, continuing through Saturday night, with the possibility of a thunderstorm developing. Saturday's high should be near 79F. East wind around 9 mph.
