Runaway couples at the next Genealogical Society meeting

By Mike Watson

Elopements Abound! Come hear all the news on eloping and run-away couples at the next meeting of the Adair County Genealogical Society, Monday, June 3, 2019, at 5pmCT at the Adair County Library.

LeeAnn Harmon Jessee will dish up the goods on a few elopers of yesteryear. There are some highly amusing tales of horses, buggies, conspirators and more. Even law enforcement involvement and maybe a shotgun or two!

LeeAnn Jessee is the Head Librarian at the Adair County Public Library, founding member of the new iteration of the Adair Heritage Society, driving force for the Adair Genealogical Society, and so much more. Come hear the interesting stories of marriage on the road, so to speak.

The Adair County Genealogical Society meets on the first Monday night of the month (with some holiday exceptions) at 5pmCT, in the Adair County Public Library, 307 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY. For more information call the library at 270-384-2472.
