Arts Week celebrated at Campbellsville Elementary School

Campbellsville Elementary School students celebrated Arts Week the week of April 22, 2019. The students celebrated many different genres of music, with dress-up days and other activities.

Monday, April 22, was Country/Western Day. Those participating dressed in their favorite cowboy/cowgirl outfits. Students learned about composer Johann Sebastian Bach and listened to songs "Wagon Wheel" and "Coat of Many Colors."



Tuesday, April 23, was 1950s Day. Students and teachers dressed in jeans and poodle skirts with slicked back hair. Students learned about composer Ludwig van Beethoven and listened to "Tutti Frutti" and "Ain't Nothing But a Hound Dog."

Wednesday, April 24, was 1960s and 1970s Day. Those participating wore tie-dyed shirts and peace signs. Students learned about artist Vincent van Gogh and listened to "Rockin' Robin" and "Barbara Ann."

Thursday, April 25, was 1980s Day. Participants wore big hair, bright colors and layers. Students learned about artist Pablo Picasso and listened to "Eye of the Tiger," "Man in the Mirror," "Jump" and "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun."

Friday, April 26, was Beach Day. Those participating wore their favorite beach outfit. Students learned about artist Walt Disney, listened to "Kokomo" and "Surfing USA" and watched a video about how dancing has changed over the years.

Campbellsville Elementary School students celebrated Arts Week the week of April 22. The students celebrated many different genres of music, with dress-up days and other activities from Country/Western Day to Beach Day. Those participating wore their favorite theme outfits and learned about artists of that period.
