LWC Men's Track and Field in 3rd after day 1 of MSC Championships

Williamsburg, KY - Lindsey Wilson men's outdoor track and field sit in third place after day one of the Mid-South Conference Championships held at James H. Taylor, II Stadium in Williamsburg, Ky.

The Blue Raiders earned 50 total team points on the first day of competition. Cumberlands (KY) sits in the top position with 79 points while Shawnee State sits in second place with 55 points.


Mishi Easterling finished day one sitting in third place for the men's decathlon with 2,970 points while Michael Redmon sits in fifth with a total of 2,388 points and Christian Davis sitting in seventh with 2,077 points.

Easterling earned Second Team All-MSC honors in the long jump finals, finishing second with a distance of 7.05 meters while earning eight team points. Redmon finished fourth with a distance of 6.77 meters for five points while Pierre Ezanno finished with a distance of 6.73 for four points. Holt Keeling also managed to grab a point, finishing the event with a distance of 6.38 meters.

Levi Owens garnered Second Team All-MSC honors in the 3000-meter steeplechase finals finishing in second with a time of 9:52.26 which was good for eight team points. Jordan Tucker finished the event in sixth with a time of 10:16.88 and three team points.

Caleb Watson, Noah Brown, Austin Mattingly, and Daniel Fakunle were the Blue Raiders competing in 4x800 finals squad that finished second, earning Second Team All-MSC Honors with a time of 8:05.73, good for eight points as well.

Ezanno also added six points for his third-place finish in the pole vault finals finishing at 3.30 meters. Anthony Hampton finished fifth in the hammer throw with a distance of 43.09 meters and four points. Timothy Higgs also competed in the event with a distance of 40.94 meters finishing eighth and earning a point. As for the Javelin, Cameron Thurman finished in seventh with a distance of 44.70 meters which earned two points.

The Blue Raiders that qualified for Saturday's finals are broken down into each event. Kevin Hallmon, Christian Davis, and Keeling qualified for the 100-meter finals. Christian Whitehead, Jaylun Wallace, Hallmon, and Keeling all qualified for the 200-meter finals.

As for the 400-meter finals, Wallace, Whitehead, and Fakunle all qualified. Fakunle also qualified for the 800-meter run. Finally, Hunter Watkins and Whitehead qualified for the 400-meter hurdle finals while Jim Headrick and Jordan Tucker qualified for the 1,500-meter finals.

Lindsey Wilson is set to close out the second and final day of the championships on Saturday at James H. Taylor, II Stadium.
