Blue Raiders fall 15-1 against Tennessee Wesleyan

Lindsey Wilson baseball falls to No. 2-ranked Tennessee Wesleyan on Tuesday afternoon at Egnew Park.

The Blue Raiders (7-29) dropped the game 15-1 against the Bulldogs (38-7) in a game that would result in only seven innings played of the scheduled nine. Tennessee Wesleyan out hit Lindsey Wilson 17-5 as well as produced 14 RBI's to LWC's one.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action this weekend as they host Mid-South Conference foe Campbellsville on Friday and Saturday for a three-game series at Egnew Park, Lindsey Wilson Sports Complex, 928 Russell Road, Columbia, KY. Friday's action is slated for a 3pmCT start with Saturday's doubleheader set for NoonCT.


Tyler Maskill notched two hits for the Blue Raiders with Vincent Boils scoring the only run off a solo home run.

The Bulldogs were able to amass a 7-0 lead over the course of the first two innings. Lindsey Wilson managed to hold Tennessee Wesleyan from scoring in the third.

TWU slotted home another run in the fourth inning before a scoreless inning would pass in the fifth. The Bulldogs tacked on another seven runs on eight hits in the sixth to record their final tally to 15 runs.

LWC held off the Bulldogs for the seventh before Boils connected for the Blue Raiders' only run of the game, hitting a solo shot over the left-field fence.

Seth Price (0-1) started on the mound for the Blue Raiders and picks up his first loss of the season, throwing for 1.1 innings. Austin Streble would make an appearance for 2.2 innings before Gerard Mendez and Francisco Arias would both make appearances, respectively.

Jack Granath (7-1) snagged the win, pitching for 3.0 innings to open the game. Manny Perez would follow with 2.0 innings of work with Gavin Roberson and Jesse Philp both making appearances with one inning apiece.
