Taylor County 4-H Talk Meet CES student winners

Campbellsville Elementary School fourth-grade students competed and won ribbons at the Taylor County 4-H Talk Meet on Tuesday, March 26.

Fourth-graders Lanigan Price, Tye Rhodes, Luke Adkins, Maddox Hawkins, Evan Lockridge and Annabelle Brockman participated.



Price and Rhodes advanced to the second round of competition, where Price was named reserve champion and Rhodes was in the Top 4 of the 10-year-old category.

Adkins, Hawkins and Lockridge received blue ribbons for their speeches in the 10-year-old category, which are given to students who score between 80 and 100. The blue ribbon is the top ribbon given.

Brockman, who competed in the 9-year-old category, received a red ribbon, which is given to students who score between 60 and 70 points.

Brockman’s speech was about veterans.

Price discussed life on his farm, and Adkins spoke about his grandfather playing professional baseball with Johnny Bench. Hawkins wrote about former NBA player Junior Bridgeman.

Lockridge wrote about his siblings and Rhodes spoke about his campaign for Kentucky Junior Beta elementary vice president.
