CHF recognizes Kayla Garrison Jones' fundraising efforts By Courtney A. Puckett 22-year-old Kayla Garrison Jones of Columbia, Kentucky, helped make possible a $25,000 renovation to bone marrow transplant rooms at Norton Children's Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. The room renovations include the addition of showers, and the expansion of seating and space, making the stay for patients and families much more comfortable. The Children's Hospital Foundation is grateful to have Columbia's support, and is especially thankful for Kayla, who has put smiles on the faces of countless patients throughout her years of involvement with Norton Children's Hospital. Norton Children's Hospital and Norton Children's Cancer Institute, affiliated with the University of Louisville, treat hundreds of children each year. For years, Kayla has been helping to better the lives of those children through Kayla's Rising Above Childhood Cancer Fund. The fund was created with help from the Children's Hospital Foundation, which raises money to support Norton Children's facilities and services. Since its inception, Kayla's Rising Above Childhood Cancer Fund has raised more than $40,000 to benefit children fighting cancer at Norton Children's Cancer Institute. The funds raised are made possible by support from generous community members, many of whom live in Columbia. To learn more or make a donation, call the Children's Hospital Foundation at (502) 629-8060 or visit HelpNortonChildrens.com. This story was posted on 2019-03-28 12:58:07
