LWC wrestling heads to MSC Championship on Saturday

The Lindsey Wilson wrestling team kicks off postseason action at the Mid-South Conference Men's Wrestling Championship at 8amCT on Saturday, February 16, 2019, at Michael O. Buchanon Park, Nashville Rd., Bowling Green, KY.

The MSC Men's Wrestling Championship is comprised of eight conference schools. In total, five MSC schools are ranked in the top-20 in the NAIA, with three schools ranked in the top-10. The individual field features 47 ranked wrestlers and the No.1 grapplers at 149, 157 and 285 pounds.


Based on its 47 ranked grapplers, the MSC is awarded 47 automatic bids spread over 10 weight classes. The conference is also granted three wildcard spots into the national field. All 47 wrestlers must compete during the conference championships in order to keep all of its automatic bids.

The Mid-South Conference received five automatic bids at 125-pounds, four at 133-pounds, five at 141-pounds, three at 149 pounds, six at 157-pounds, three at 165-pounds, five at 174-pounds, five at 184-pounds, five at 197-pounds and six at 285-pounds.

Complete brackets and seeding will be released Friday evening.

The top wrestler in each weight class receives First-team All-Conference accolades, while the second-best wrestler receives Second-Team All-Conference honors.

Butler (fifth-place) and Austin Ramsey (sixth-place).

Last season, The Blue Raiders finished in second place at the Mid-South Conference Championships. Brett Bradford earned first-team all-conference honors by taking first in his respective weight class, while Brady Moser earned second team all-conference honors.
