Here is a list of places offering help in Adair, Green, Russell and Taylor Counties until the extreme freezing temperatures pass out of our area.

In Russell Springs: Due to the frigid temperatures Jax's Cool Convenience has secured 15 rooms at the Cumberland Lodge and 5 rooms at the Springs Motel in Russell Springs for tonight and Thursday night, January 30 and January 31, 2019. If you or someone you know, preferably with young children or elderly first, that either have an insufficient heat source or no housing, please reach out by phone. 270-566-4161. Room and tax are paid but no incidentals will be covered.

Taylor County Schools: "If any family needs food delivered to their children during days that school is out, please contact the Taylor County Board of Education at 270-465-5371 or message the district Facebook page. Our central office staff, administrators, maintenance department, transportation department, and food services are on hand to help deliver food. No questions asked and no names mentioned. If your family has other needs due to the extreme weather, high cases of the flu, or other sicknesses, please contact us as well.

Adair County: The Adair County Annex is open overnight as a warming center for any who need it. JOY Ministries is doing its work to help people. If anyone would like to help, their needs are clean blankets/throws and water.

Green County Schools: Buildings were left open today even though school is out in case any children need warm places.
