LWC Basketball heads south to face Life on Sat afternoon By Clayton Barefield The Lindsey Wilson men and women's basketball teams head south to face Life University, 1269 Barclay Cir, Marietta, GA, on Saturday afternoon. The Mid-South Conference doubleheader begins with the women's matchup set to tip off at 1pmCT followed by the men's game at 3pmCT. The No. 21-ranked women (13-6, 4-2 MSC) are coming off a 70-62 home victory over Cumberlands (Ky.) on Thursday night. Reagan Turner led the Blue Raider offense with 25 points and four assists as well as adding five rebounds for the contest. Molly Stone and Rose Mary Jackson both managed double-digit points to finish the game. Gerda Paulauskaite led the Blue Raiders with a total of 14 rebounds and five blocks. With Turner's continued streak of games scoring 25+ points, she has been able to jump into the NAIA Division I top-10 in points per game (19.9) for a No. 6 ranking along with a No. 8 ranking in total scoring (378). Turner's performances this season have continued to place her atop the MSC in points per game while also shooting for 47.6 percent from the field. Paulauskaite joins Turner as an MSC leader in rebounds and blocks. Paulauskaite averages 8.39 rebounds for a total of 151 as well as averages 2.78 blocks for a total of 50. Paulauskaite continues to rank nationally with a No. 6 ranking in blocks per game and a No. 7 ranking in total blocks. Life (12-6, 2-4 MSC) hosts Lindsey Wilson after defeating Cumberland (Tenn.) 87-77 in Lebanon, Tennessee on Thursday night. The Running Eagles were led by Shikiya Brown who tallied 21 points and three assists. Naomi House was the only other Life student-athlete that scored in double figures. The Running Eagles rank second in the NAIA Division I in steals per game with an average of 16.3 per game. Maeisha Teasley leads the conference in steals as well as ranks No. 4 in the NAIA Division I with 4.07 steals per game along with a No. 6 ranking in total steals (61.) Saturday's matchup is the seventh meeting between the two programs. The Blue Raiders own a 5-1 record over the Running Eagles. Last season, Lindsey Wilson defeated Life 92-53 at the Eagles' Nest in Marietta, Georgia. Lindsey Wilson men's basketball (11-10, 2-4 MSC) returns to action after a 77-66 home loss to Cumberlands on Thursday evening. The Blue Raiders were led by Payton Cundiff, who notched 15 points while Kel Stotts chipped in with 13 points. JR Adams produced on both ends of the floor for LWC with 13 points, seven assists, four rebounds, and two steals. As a team, the LWC defense is ranked in the top-10 in the NAIA, holding opponents to 39.4 percent shooting from the field and 29.7 percent from beyond the arc. Adams continues to lead the individual efforts for the defense, ranking seventh in the NAIA in Total Steals with 41. Life (14-7, 4-1 MSC) returns to action after an 83-82 loss to Cumberland (Tenn.) Thursday evening. Deven Dorsett leads the Running Eagles offense averaging 17 points per game while shooting 55.2 % from the field. Life's offense is added by Evan Milligan, who ranks first in NAIA in free-throw percentage, shooting at 93.2%. Saturday's meeting marks 18th meeting, with Life leading the overall series 13-4.
