Lindsey Wilson Softball releases 2019 schedule

The Lindsey Wilson softball team released its 2019 schedule on Wednesday, head coach David Dews announced.

To open their 2019 campaign, the Blue Raiders play a home-and-home series against Union (Ky.) with the first two games taking place at Marilyn D. Sparks Park on Feb. 12 before hitting the road on Feb. 18 for two games in Barbourville, Kentucky.

Lindsey Wilson then returns home for two double headers against Brescia (Ky.) and Indiana Southeast on March 1 and March 7, respectively.


The Blue Raider are then on a 10 game road trip from March 9-19 that features three ranked team in No. 4 Columbia (Mo.), No. 5 Georgia Gwinnett and No. 18 Central Methodist.

Lindsey Wilson kicks off MSC action in their home opener on March 22-23 when they take on Cumberland (Ky.) and open MSC road games on April 5-6 when they take on Georgetown (Ky.).

The MSC Tournament is set to be held during May 3-5. The NAIA National Championship Opening Round is schedule to begin on May 13-15 and the 2019 NAIA World Series is scheduled for May 23-29 in Springfield, Missouri.

In all, Lindsey Wilson plays 14 games against five different teams that received votes in the 2019 NAIA Baseball Coaches' Preseason Top 25 Poll.

Lindsey Wilson opens the 2019 season at 1pmCT on February 12th against Union at Marilyn D. Sparks Park in Columbia, Kentucky.

Dews, enters his sixth season at the head of the softball program as he is the programs all-time coaching wins leader, racking up 229 wins for his career. Last season, he guided the Blue Raiders to an impressive 40-16 record including a 17-7 mark in the Mid-South Conference, the second best regular season record. LWC fell in the semifinals of the MSC tournament before making their sixth consecutive appearance in the NAIA National Championship Opening Round.
