Senator Max Wise's office has provided a summary for Senate Bill 1, the School Safety and Resiliency Act.

Among other things, the proposed bill includes

  • Systems for reporting threats and also for more explicitly criminalizing hoaxes,
  • Additional calls for mental health training and suicide prevention
  • The creation of a new "state school security marshall," with similar scope as the state fire marshall
The summary is available for download here: 2019-01-Wises-SB1-Summary (PDF).
