By Larry Smith, General Manager, The Big Dawg, FM 99.9 radio

A Green County man died after being attacked by his stepson with a hammer late Saturday afternoon.

49-year-old Richard Gregory of Ralph Vaughn Road, Greensburg, KY, was allegedly attacked by 32-year-old Robert L. Cundiff, Jr of Greensburg.

Authorities say that Cundiff allegedly attacked Gregory with a hammer, beating him beyond recognition, then put Gregory's body in a crawl space under the house at that same residence.

Gregory was found by police, he was still alive. Green County EMS transported Gregory to Jane Todd Crawford Memorial Hospital where he died shortly thereafter.

Cundiff was arrested by Kentucky State Police and charged with murder and tampering with physical evidence. The case remains under investigation by KSP and the Green County Sheriff's Department.
