Adair Co. Grand Jury returns indictments Tue 11 Dec 2018

Indictments brought against 13 individuals from Columbia, Loretto, Russell Springs, Liberty, and Louisville, KY, on charges including assault, theft, possession, public intoxication, terroristic threatening, DUI, wanton endangerment, and flight.

NOTE: Indictments are considered formal charges. An indictment is not a finding of guilt. An individual charged by indictment is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceeding.

The Adair County, KY Circuit Court grand jury, Columbia, KY, returned indictments against the following individuals on Tuesday, 11 December 2018:

  • Tyler S. Grooms, Page St., Columbia, KY Indictment No. 18-CR-00252. Charged with 4 counts. Count 1 - Burglary, 3rd degree. Theft by unlawful taking/disposition, $500 or more but under $10,000. Count 3 - Operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol/drugs/etc., .08, 1st offense. Count 4 - Possession of drug paraphernalia. Arraignment 1/29/2019 at 9amCT.

  • Tony A. Beard, Old Portland Rd., Columbia, KY Indictment No. 18-CR-00253. Charged with 4 counts. Count 1 - Wanton endangerment, 1st degree. Count 2 - Wanton endangerment, 1st degree. Count 3 - Menacing. Count 4 - Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Arraignment 1/29/2019 at 9amCT.

  • Christy Fay Vaughn, Bank St., Louisville, KY Indictment No. 18-CR-00254. Charged with 1 count. Count 1 - Possession of a controlled substance, 1st degree, 2nd offense, methamphetamine. Bail set at $1,500 cash/sec prop with MCR, arraignment 1/29/2019 at 9amCT.

  • Otis Ray Watt, III, W. Wilson Rd., Russell Springs, KY Indictment No. 18-CR-00255. Charged with 3 counts. Count 1 - Possession of a controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense, methamphetamine. Count 2 - Possession of drug paraphernalia. Count 3 - Possession of a controlled substance, 2nd degree. Bail set at $1,500 cash/sec prop, arraignment 1/29/2019 at 9amCT.

  • Jeffrey A. Iames, Hill St., Columbia, KY Indictment No. 18-CR-00256. Charged with 4 counts. Count 1 - Burglary, 2nd degree. Count 2 - Persistent felony offender, 1st degree. Count 3 - Public intoxication. Count 4 - Criminal mischief, 3rd degree. Bail set at $50,000 cash, arraignment 1/29/2019 at 9amCT.

  • Demetrias R. Matherly, Chestnut Level Rd., Liberty, KY Indictment No. 18-CR-00257. Charged with 3 counts. Count 1 - Wanton endangerment, 1st degree. Count 2 - Terroristic threatening, 3rd degree. Count 3 - Menacing. Bail set at $5,000 cash, arraignment 1/29/2019 at 9amCT.

  • Phillip R. Hopper, AB Roy Road, Russell Springs, KY Indictment No. 18-CR-00258. Charged with 2 counts Count 1 - Possession of a controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense, methamphetamine. Count 2 - Possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail set at $1,500 cash/sec prop w/MCR, arraignment 1/29/2019 at 9amCT.

  • Jo Ann Torres, W KY 76, Russell Springs, KY Indictment No. 18-CR-00259. Charged with 4 counts. Count 1 - Trafficking in a controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense, 2g+ methamphetamine. Count 2 - Possession of drug paraphernalia. Count 3 - Rear license not illuminated. Count 4 - Failure to produce insurance card. Bail set at $5,000 cash/sec prop, arraignment 1/29/2019 at 9amCT.

  • Samantha Jo Grider, Rescue Rd., Russell Springs, KY Indictment No. 18-CR-00260. Charged with 4 counts. Count 1 - Trafficking in controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense, 2g+ methamphetamine. Count 2 - Possession of drug paraphernalia. Count 3 - Promoting contraband, 1st degree. Count 4 - Possession of a controlled substance, 2nd degree. Bail set at $5,000 cash/sec prop, arraignment 1/29/2019 at 9amCT.

  • Terri Bernadette Garner, Woodland Dr., Russell Springs, KY Indictment No. 18-CR-00261. Charged with 10 counts. Count 1 - Fleeing or evading the police, 1st degree. Count 2 - Persistent felony offender, 1st degree. Count 3 - Receiving stolen property, $500 or more but less than $10,000. Count 4 - Persistent felony offender, 1st degree. Count 5 - Operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol/drugs/etc., .08, 3rd offense. Count 6 - Reckless driving. Count 7 - Careless driving. Count 8 - Disregarding traffic conrol device, traffic light. Count 9 - Failure to wear seat belts. Count 10 - Resisting arrest. Bail set at $10,000 cash, arraignment 1/29/2019 at 9amCT.

  • Chadwick Alan Hagan, N. Loretto Rd., Loretto, KY Indictment No. 18-CR-00262. Charged with 11 counts. Count 1 - Assault, 3rd degree. Count 2 - Fleeing or evading the police, 1st degree. Count 3 - Wanton endangerment, 1st degree. Count 4 - Wanton endangerment, 1st degree. Count 5 - Wanton endangerment, 1st degree. Count 6 - Wanton endangerment, 1st degree. Count 7 - Wanton endangerment, 1st degree. Count 8 - Resisting arrest. Count 9 - Reckless driving. Count 10 - Criminal mischief, 3rd degree. Count 11 - Failure to wear seat belts. Arraignment 1/29/2019 at 9amCT.

  • Timothy Shawn Vanarsdale, New Concord Rd., Columbia, KY Indictmnet No. 18-CR-00263. Charged with 6 counts. Count 1 - Receiving stolen property, $500 or more but less than $10,000. Count 2 - Receiving stolen property, firearm. Count 3 - Possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. Count 4 - Possession of a controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense, methamphetamine. Count 5 - Possession of marijuana. Count 6 - Possession of a controlled substance, 3rd degree. Bail set at $5,000 cash, arraignment 1/29/2019 at 9amCT.

  • William Earl Miller, Hurricane Branch Rd., Russell Springs, KY Indictment No. 18-CR-00264. Charged with 6 counts. Count 1 - Theft of identity. Count 2 - Operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol/drugs/etc., .08, 1st offense. Count 3 - No operator's license. Count 4 - Failure to produce insurance card. Count 5 - Failure to register transfer of motor vehicle. Count 6 - Failure to wear seat belts. Arraignment 1/29/2019 at 9amCT.
