It's been a joyous TG on the Lane before treatment begins again

By Linda Waggener

Our Mitzi Bault is going through a major health challenge that her family and friends had hoped was in the past. Cancer, which she has beat twice over the last eleven years, has returned. One weekend she and I were out taking pictures, the next she was hospitalized for tests and handed the very hard news. She was allowed to come home to McKinley Lane for the holiday, thankfully.

She knows how to pack every second full of life and love and wrote that it has been a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday before going back to Louisville next week.

The two of us were talking on the phone right after she got home and I could hear the sudden surprise in her voice as it changed to pure joy when Mitzi said, "well, here comes my little Momma!" I hung up picturing my sister-in-law Fay McKinley going in Mitzi's back door, gathering her baby girl into her arms, and hanging on - and I shared a little of their joy at that picture.

Many have visited Mitzi, called her, messaged her, and she has been happy to connect with everyone. She said Alexis Jennings brought her a beautiful arrangement, and Easton and Mercedes Bryant "who are always doing something for someone, brightened my day with a beautiful platter. It was a great surprise."

Mitzi said she had a great Thanksgiving day in Somerset at her daughter Amy's home.

She said her doctor is bringing her back to Louisville as the holiday weekend comes to a close to enroll into a new drug treatment plan - it will be so hard but she knows what it's like and is glad to be alive and able to try it. She will be going back this coming week to start on the new drug and said, "pray that it works."

Prayers are requested to continue without ceasing for her healing!
