CPD School Resource Officers make drug arrest

Note: An arrest is not a finding of guilt. An individual placed under arrest is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceeding.

On Wednesday 10-24-18, Ofc. Kevin Atwood and Ofc. Charles Greer who are assigned as SROs, initiated a drug investigation on school campus.

Officers received information from students that another student had been seen in possession of drugs. After the investigation they were able to locate the student who was enrolled at Adair County High School.



Officers located a small amount of marijuana on the juvenile. Further investigation led them to obtain a search warrant for a residence aprox 9 miles east of Columbia on KY 206. Officers executed the search warrant with assistance from CPD Ofc John Dial and his K-9 Gunner locating a large amount of marijuana in plastic bags with digital scales.

Arrested was 36-year-old Tisha Cook of Columbia and she was lodged in Adair County Regional Jail.

She was charged with: Trafficking in Marijuana over 8 ounces and Wanton Endangerment 2 counts.

Officer Atwood and Officer Greer are continuing the investigation and were assisted by Ofc Dial and k-9 Gunner.

A drug investigation that began on Adair County public school property by School Resource Officers Kevin Atwood and Charles Greer resulted in an arrest nine miles out in the county earlier this week. Officers received information from students that another student had been seen in possession of drugs. Further investigation led them to obtain a search warrant for a residence and resulted in an arrest.
