KADB approves $1.2M for projects across the commonwealth From Lisa Tolliver Frankfort, KY - The Kentucky Agricultural Development Board approved $1,263,891 for agricultural diversification and rural development projects across the commonwealth at its monthly board meeting, including $6,189 for On-Farm Energy Efficiency Incentives in Adair County and $1,500 for the Metcalfe County 4-H Council to purchase 25 hams. "The Kentucky Agricultural Development Board approves projects that will contribute to a pathway for agricultural diversification across the state," said Commissioner of Agriculture and board chair Dr. Ryan Quarles. "Agriculture is still very strong in Kentucky and projects, such as the ones awarded today, will guarantee that continues into the future." Church of God Rummage and Bake Sale on Mar 3/4 From Teresa Thompson The Columbia Church of God Annual Fundraiser, Rummage and Bake Sale will be held from 8amCT to 2pmCT each day on Friday, March 3, 2023, and Saturday, March 4, 2023. The bake sale will include individual baked items as well as whole desserts. Lunch will be available beginning at 11amCT each day, with BBQ sandwiches and 2 sides. Flags to half-staff in honor of TN National Guard pilots From Crystal Staley/Scottie Ellis Frankfort, KY - Gov. Andy Beshear has ordered flags at all state buildings lowered to half-staff, effective immediately, until sunset on Monday, February 20, 2023, in honor of two Tennessee National Guard pilots killed in a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter crash in Alabama on Wednesday. One of the pilots, Chief Warrant Officer 3 Danny Randolph of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, participated in search and rescue efforts following the devastating floods in Eastern Kentucky in July 2022. Gov. Basketball: LWC Men continue hot streak Lindsey Wilson men's basketball continued its hot streak at home and won its fourth straight game at Biggers Sports Center on Thursday night against the University of the Cumberlands (KY), 89-77. The Blue Raiders improved to 7-7 at home and picked up its 10th win this season. LWC finished the game with at least four players in double figures and a few just shy in this dominant win.
