Driver cited after single vehicle injury Casey Co., KY, accident

LIBERTY, KY -Tpr. Bryan Shepard is investigating a collision that occurred today at 8pmET, 6 miles south of Liberty on KY 501. 38-year-old Norman Kilmer of Liberty, was traveling north in a 2007 Ford when he ran off the roadway. Kilmer was injured and transported to Casey County Hospital in Liberty, KY, by EMS. Kilmer was not wearing a seatbelt and was admitted due to his injuries. He was cited to court for Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs 1st Offense.

PADUCAH, Ky. - Lindsey Wilson pushed all the way to the championship game of the NAIA Baseball National Championship Opening Round, but a win against the nation's top-ranked team wasn't meant to be as No. 1-seed LSU Shreveport outscored the Blue Raiders 5-1 on Saturday at Brooks Stadium-Doc Hideg Field.

PADUCAH, KY. - Combine a nearly flawless pitching performance from Jeremy Greene with four second-inning runs and the Lindsey Wilson baseball team is on its way to the NAIA Opening-Round Championship Game after a 5-0 win against Peru State (Neb.) on Saturday at Brooks Stadium-Doc Hideg Field., 2400 Brook Stadium Road, Paducah, KY.

The win Saturday morning sets up a rematch with top-seeded LSU-Shreveport later in the day at 2pmCT. The Blue Raiders lost to the Pilots 1-0 on Friday, leaving LSUS as the only undefeated team in the bracket.

R.T. (Pops) Janes, 78, Taylor Co., KY (1934-2012)

He was the patriarch of a large, highly regarded Taylor County, KY, family. He leaves 14 direct living descendants. He was a member of the Campbellsville Christian Church. He owned and operated Janes Dairy and Beef and formerly Ashland Broadway in Campbellsville. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served his country honorably in the United States Army

R. T. Janes, 78, better known as "Pops" by his family, of Campbellsville, KY, died at 5:15amET, Friday, May 11, 2012, in Louisville, KY.

Funeral services will be at 11amET/10amCT, Monday, May 14, 2012 at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY byMinister Paul Patton & Minister Joe Hatchett. Nettie Coomer, Adair Co., KY (1926-2012)

She was a native of and resident of Adair County, KY. She was the matriarch of a highly regarded family with many relatives in South Central Kentucky, Indiana and Michigan. She leaves 21 direct living descendants. and one foster son. She was a member of Columbia Baptist Church. She had retired after a career spanning 43 years at Rockwell Standard in Chicago, Illinois.

Roy Brewster, Edmonton, KY, (d. May 11, 2012)

He was the patriarch of a large, respected Metcalfe County, KY, family. He leaves 79 direct living descendants. He was a son of the late Andy and Nanny Westmoreland Brewster and was retired from farming and Scotties Construction

Roy Brewster, 84, of Edmonton, KY, died Friday, May 11, 2012 at home.

A private service will be held at a later date. McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY, is in charge of arrangements.

PADUCAH, KY - Due to potential weather moving in the Paducah area on Saturday, the Lindsey Wilson College and Peru State (NE) University baseball game has been moved up to 10amCT at Brooks Stadium, 2400 Brooks Stadium Drive, Paducah, KY. The game was originally scheduled for 1pmCT. It is an elimination game in the NAIA Opening Round Tournament in the Paducah Bracket.
