Click on headline for complete story with photo(s) Lindsey Wilson Baseball faces LSU Shreveport at 2pmCT on Saturday, May 12, 2012, at at Brooks Stadium-Doc Hideg Field., 2400 Brook Stadium Road, Paducah, KY By Dan White News from Lindsey Wilson College PADUCAH, KY. - Combine a nearly flawless pitching performance from Jeremy Greene with four second-inning runs and the Lindsey Wilson baseball team is on its way to the NAIA Opening-Round Championship Game after a 5-0 win against Peru State (Neb.) on Saturday at Brooks Stadium-Doc Hideg Field., 2400 Brook Stadium Road, Paducah, KY. The win Saturday morning sets up a rematch with top-seeded LSU-Shreveport later in the day at 2pmCT. The Blue Raiders lost to the Pilots 1-0 on Friday, leaving LSUS as the only undefeated team in the bracket. To advance to the NAIA World Series in Lewiston, Idaho, Lindsey Wilson will need to win today and on Sunday with the double-elimination format. Against Peru State the story of the game was Greene (6-2) on the mound. The senior threw a complete game, allowing just three hits and walking a batter with six strikeouts. Pilot starter Austin Parker (1-3) took the loss, allowing five runs on eight hits in eight innings. There was one extra-base hit in the game, a double tallied by Blue Raider second baseman Tyler Bernard who finished with a hit and two walks. The top of the Lindsey Wilson order, batters one through three, all finished with two hits. Shortstop Leandro Perez and left fielder Adam Peacock did the most damage, driving in a run each with their two singles. The fateful four-run second for the Bobcats came by the way of two Lindsey Wilson hits. Parker issued two walks and hit a batter, along with first baseman Manuel Ozoria reaching on an error to help the Blue Raiders gain the comfortable lead. Five scoreless innings followed before the Blue Raiders struck for another run on Ozoria's single that score center fielder Manuel Ozoria from third. Greene got the leadoff hitter in the ninth to ground out and after walking the second batter, made it a 1-2-3 inning with a 5-4-3 double play to bring the game to a close.
