Volleyball: Lady Indians historic season By Trey Stephens, Staff Writer On Sunday, October 26, 2025, the Adair County Lady Indians Volleyball team fell to the Elizabethtown Panthers in straight sets 25-15, 25-17, and 25-18 in the first round of the Fifth Region Tournament. The Lady Indians fought extremely hard throughout the game and took several points off the Panthers, especially in the later parts of the game. Despite the loss, the Tribe still finished the season with a 29-8 record, the best in the Fifth Region. That record also marks the history books as the winningest season in Adair County Volleyball history, and the first time a Lady Indians volleyball team has made the Fifth Region Tournament. All in all, we all should be incredibly proud of the season the Lady Indians volleyball team put together. I am already excited for next season! 2025-10-28 14:08:19 | Comments | Printable version | See topic Sports
Student seeks memories of the Coe Ridge Colony Emma Vonder Haar is currently a student at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Emma is from Louisville, but her family is from Barren County, and for Emma's senior thesis, she is researching memories of the Coe Ridge Colony in Cumberland County. Emma says, "I am looking to conduct oral histories (interviews) with anyone who is a descendent of a family who lived in the Coe Ridge Colony or a Coe themselves, remembers Coe Ridge before its closure in 1958, or wants to share how its memory exists (even if it doesn't!) in Cumberland County today. I am not looking for experts -- just people willing to share! My research project has been cleared by the Institutional Review Board (ethics committee) and I am happy to send my questions ahead of time." If you or someone you know is interested in sharing, Emma asks that you send her an email at esv14@georgetown.edu. (She can also be reached via Facebook and LinkedIn, if that's easier).
