Cheers - starting the day with hot cup of coffee

2023-03-15 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Rita Campbell.
Audra Campbell likes to start her day enjoying a hot cup of coffee according to her daughter Rita. Her comment reminded me of my Mom who, like Audra, started her day with a hot cup of black coffee and a buttered biscuit - with a twist.

Mom, following in her own mother's footsteps, would open a hot biscuit, slather a good bit of butter onto each half, then toast it in the oven until the butter was melted and the edges were crisp. -- LW

Medicinal cannabis bill clears Senate committee

From Nancy Royden, LRC

Frankfort, KY -- The Senate Licensing and Occupations Committee advanced a bill on Tuesday that would allow people with serious medical conditions to use medicinal cannabis in Kentucky.

The bill's primary sponsor, Sen. Stephen West, R-Paris, described the measure and the work surrounding it as "a long road." He said he didn't intend to enter the fray on medical marijuana until some of his constituents filed a resolution on the issue in Mason County.

"Once I got into it, started reviewing it, the more I researched it, the more I was on board with the issue, and it's been back and forth ever since," he testified.
