This is an invitation for anyone that is caregiving for another person to come, have a complimentary light lunch and receive helpful information. Tillie Jones, 87, Green County, KY (1935-2023) Tillie B. Jones was born March 14, 1935, in Green County, KY to the late Newton and Mattie Smith Bagby. She departed this life Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at her home in Greensburg, having attained the age of eighty-seven years, eleven months and seventeen days. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greensburg United Methodist Church. Friday to be NTI day for Adair Co. Schools Adair County schools have announced that there will be no in person classes on Friday, March 3, 2023 due to the predicted impending severe weather. It will be an NTI Day. Students in Adair Primary and Elementary schools were to have participated in the final Read Across Adair day - "Dr. Seuss' The Sleep Book Day, wear your favorite PJs." Potent weather system headed our way Mike Keltner, Director of Adair County Emergency Management, sends word of a potent weather system that will affect South Central Kentucky Thursday night into Friday. Showers and thunderstorms are expected across the outlook area on Thursday evening. Heavy rainfall will be the primary weather hazard overnight. For Friday, the National Weather Service in Louisville, KY, has issued a High Wind Warning for an area that includes Adair and all surrounding counties. Strong gusty winds, strong to severe thunderstorms, and heavy rainfall are expected as this storm system pushes through the area. The main severe weather threats on Friday will be damaging winds and isolated tornadoes. Dodge Hellcats stolen from Franklin Motors Somerset Five of six Dodge Challenger Hellcats have been recovered. One found in Pulaski County, another just south of Bowling Green, one in Tennessee, one in Alabama, and one in Adair County. The 6th vehicle has not yet been found. KENTUCKY STATE POLICE REPORT -- 19-year-old Cavese Jones of Vestavia Hills, Alabama was allegedly part of a group that stole six new Dodge Challenger Hellcats early Tuesday around 2:00amET from the Don Franklin Chrysler Jeep dealership in Somerset, KY. Jones was arrested Tuesday morning (a few hours after the theft) after he was seen driving a stolen car beside three other stolen cars on the Cumberland Parkway in Adair County heading west. Fire destroys home on Prices Creek Road By Donald Hare, AC Fire Department The Adair County Fire Department responded Wednesday afternoon at 4:08 PM to a residential house fire at 1887 Prices Creek Road. Upon firefighters' arrival, the house was engulfed in fire and was a total loss. The home was owned by the estate of Margie Dickson. The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time. There were 16 firemen on the scene for approximately 2.5 hours.
