Boil Water Advisory issued for Weed Keltner Rd area From Columbia Adair Utilities District Date issued November 7, 2022 Time Issued 5:15pmCT A Boil Water Advisory is in effect for consumers of Columbia Adair Utilities District for customers at 399-4663 Weed Keltner Rd and all side roads in between. The advisory has been issued due to a main line break. Following such an event, the potential exists for bacteriological contamination of the water supply therefore this Boil Water Advisory has been issued as a precautionary measure. Until further notice, boil all water used for drinking and cooking, bringing the water to a rolling boil for three minutes before using. This advisory will remain in effect until the situation has been corrected and test results have shown the water to be of an acceptable quality. ACHS Academic Team Wins Big at JV Challenge The ACHS Academic Team won 1st Place overall in Section 8 of the JV Challenge Championships on Saturday, November 6, 2022. Teams from across the region of Metcalfe County, Casey County, and all of the Somerset area schools competed for the top prize, and Adair County came out on top. The team had six students place in individual events at the event. Sophomore Bailey Watts finished in 1st Place in both Arts and Humanities and Language Arts. In another impressive feat, over 200 students competed at the event statewide, and Bailey Watts was 3rd overall in the state. Sophomores Tristin Andrews, Trevir Andrews, and Joseph Kotter all earned medals in the Science category. Tristin won the championship in the event while his brother Trevir finished right behind in 2nd Place. Kotter earned the 4th Place medal in the event, helping Adair dominate the category and clench that overall championship in the process. Composition competed earlier in the week, and after the evaluators completed their scores, the results on Saturday revealed that Mia Schneider captured 4th Place and Trina Nguyen took home 5th Place in the event. Volleyball: LWC sweeps Shawnee State on Senior Day At Biggers Sports Center, the Lindsey Wilson volleyball team celebrated its latest senior class in style, handling Shawnee State University in a three-set decision on Sunday afternoon. The victory pushes the Blue Raiders' win streak to a season-long four matches and secures them the fourth seed in this week's Mid-South Conference tournament. The Blue Raiders wrap up their regular season with an overall record of 13-12.
