EDA will get site visit to industrial park

By Heather Bryant Spoon

The Columbia Adair County Economic Development Authority (EDA) has received word that our recent grant application for a build-ready pad in the Green River Commerce Park will be progressing to the next phase. A visit by the Site Selection Group will take place in mid-November.

This visit does not indicate the awarding of the grant, but is definitely something to be celebrated as the next step toward it.

Both the Adair County Fiscal Court and the Columbia City Council voted unanimously to support the EDA's application by offering one third each of the matching funds if the grant is awarded.

Our community has been so supportive of the EDA as we pursue industry that will inevitably bring better jobs and more revenue to our hometown. This a great indicator that the leadership of Columbia, and greater Adair County, is serious about the pursuit of good paying jobs for our residents.
