Golf: LWC Women takes 3rd Place at MSC Spring Classic Crossville, TN - The Lindsey Wilson women's golf team battled their way to a third-place finish at the Mid-South Conference Spring Classic. The Blue Raiders came into the final round in second place but slide down the leaderboard during the final round despite scoring their lowest round of the championship. Lindsey Wilson posted a 956 (323-318-315) across the first two rounds. The Blue Raiders managed the third mist pars (131) and second-most birdies (21) for the tournament. The event was played at Bear Trace at Cumberland Mountain a par-72, 5,810-yard design. Tom R. McClendon, 63, Russell County, KY (1958-2022) Tom R. McClendon, 63, of Russell Springs, KY passed away suddenly Monday, April 11, 2022 in Liberty KY. He was walking positivity. He genuinely loved life and saw it as an adventure. He was an incredible listener, gave sound advice, and offered support and encouragement. He was in medical sales and had a work ethic like no other. He was a retired radio broadcaster and loved hot air balloons. He was an avid runner and was so proud of his dedication to running nearly every day. Tom loved his family and friends fiercely and had a laugh you would never forget. Governor signs bills to expand benefits for state police By Crystal Staley/Morgan Hall Frankfort, KY - On April 12, 2022, Gov. Andy Beshear signed into law two pieces of legislation recently passed by the General Assembly to make historic investments in law enforcement, positioning the commonwealth as a leader in public safety. In November last year, the Governor announced his two-year budget proposal would provide millions of dollars to fund competitive salaries for Kentucky State Police (KSP) troopers and officers. These funds would allow the agency to recruit, train and retain the essential workforce needed to continue to provide the highest level of security to all Kentuckians.
