Golf: LWC Women takes 3rd Place at MSC Spring Classic

Crossville, TN - The Lindsey Wilson women's golf team battled their way to a third-place finish at the Mid-South Conference Spring Classic. The Blue Raiders came into the final round in second place but slide down the leaderboard during the final round despite scoring their lowest round of the championship.

Lindsey Wilson posted a 956 (323-318-315) across the first two rounds. The Blue Raiders managed the third mist pars (131) and second-most birdies (21) for the tournament. The event was played at Bear Trace at Cumberland Mountain a par-72, 5,810-yard design.

Malene Clausen paced all Blue Raiders posting a 233 (75-81-77) in a tie for fifth place. The result marks the seventh time this season she has finished inside the top-5 at a tournament. She played the par-3s the best in the field at one-under-par while adding a two-under-par mark on Par-5s which was the second-best in the field.

Campbellsville University won the tournament following a 937 (315-310-312) as Cumberlands University took third with a 951 (334-309-308). Connor Geralds of Campbellsville took the individual title with a 228 (78-77-73).

Zofia Wojcik posted an 11th place finish, sliding one spot during her final round, with a 238 (78-80-80). Hannah Sumner raced her way up the leaderboard to finish in a tie for 15th following a 244 (86-79-79). Mann competed as an individual at the event and posted a similar 244 (76-82-86).

Katie Biddlecombe finished in 21st place with a 248 (84-85-79) while Claire McLaughlin finished just behind in 24th with a 253 (89-78--86).

Lauren Holeman also competed in the event, playing as an individual, finishing in a tie for 26th place with a 256 (86-83-87).

With the result, Campbellsville claims the MSC regular-season title as the Blue Raiders finished just behind in second place. The regular-season title is determined by the finishes in both the fall tournament and the spring tournament. The Blue Raiders finished in first place at the MSC Fall Tournament.

The Blue Raiders now turn their attention to the post-season as they next compete at the MSC Championship on May 2-3 in Bowling Green, Kentucky at Bowling Green Country Club.
