Kentucky Wired guy wire removed

2020-06-13 - Adair County, KY - Photo by Victoria Pike of Miss Vicky\'s Pampered Angus Ranch.
A very nice crew from Ledcor, a contractor with the Kentucky Wired project, arrived to remove an illegally placed guy wire anchor on the Pampered Angus Ranch. The crew was very polite and the job of securing the pole with pole to pole brace was completed in a couple of hours. This problem arose several months ago when a crew entered the property without obtaining an easement to do so and installed a guy wire anchor past 35 ft right of way by nearly 20 ft. - VP

Stephanie Turner is CU RISE program's first graduate

By Ariel C. Emberton

Campbellsville, KY - A one-on-one class atmosphere was something Stephanie Turner, of Campbellsville, was looking for when she received a postcard in the mail talking about Campbellsville University's RISE program, which is tailored to the schedules of working adults.

In 2018 Turner, who works at DaVita, a dialysis company in Campbellsville, was attending another school but she knew she wanted an in-person, one-on-one class and wasn't getting it. After having talked to her family, Turner received a postcard in the mail from Andrea Underwood, Campbellsville University's coordinator of adult learner programs, regarding CU RISE.

Letter: Seller Beware

By Pam Dailey

Today I received an unsolicited "Purchase and Sale Agreement" for acreage on our farm, including the parcel number and legal description. It had such a low price typed into the agreement that it actually made me snort laugh.

Then I worried that maybe others in the area may be getting similar mail, may be in dire straights after the lockdown, and would think that this might be a solution for quick cash.

So I did some research on this company, a brand new subsidiary with a new website just a few weeks old, of an Atlanta investment group known for purchasing multi-family, commercial apartments, C grade properties, around Atlanta. Draw your own conclusions.

We have plenty of reputable local realtors if one wants to sell land at fair market value.

It was early 50's for me at Nags Head, N.C. and it was called duck pins. I was in the third grade when I bowled my first and last game. I preferred to buy candy or ice cream with my birthday money! --Charles
