CFR responds to commercial fire at Sonic of Campbellsville By Larry Smith, Gen. Mgr. The Big Dawg, 99.9FM Radio At 6:55ET on Monday, October 1, 2018, Campbellsville Fire-Rescue responded to a reported commerical fire at Sonic Restaurant, 180 Campbellsville Bypass, Campbellsville, KY. Eight firefighters were on the scene with 2 trucks. Atmos Energy and Campbellsville Taylor County EMS also responded. CFR was on the scene within 2 minutes, and had the fire under control within 4 minutes. They finished and left the scene 41 minutes after the call. CU: Stars and Stripes Homecoming will honor veterans By Matthew M. Billiot Student news writer, Office of University Communications "Stars and Stripes" is the theme of this year's Campbellsville University Homecoming, which will honor all veterans and include veterans as grand marshals of the Homecoming parade. Brig. Gen. Scott Campbell, deputy adjutant general for the Kentucky National Guard, will speak, and many other veterans will also participate both on campus and in the annual parade, scheduled for 4pmET on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018. Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) students from Campbellsville University and Western Kentucky University will carry a 20 by 30-foot flag in the parade and also prior to the beginning of the football game when all veterans will be recognized, Darryl Peavler, director of alumni relations, said. Silent City 2018 - Grady, Cravens, Eubank, Baker, Hurt portrayed By Victoria Pike The 12th Annual "Silent City" Columbia City Cemetery Tour was held Monday, October 1, 2018. Historical notes of each individual selected are reflected by presenters in a graveside vignette about the person buried there. Attendees first gather at the Adair Public Library, 307 Greensburg Street, Columbia, and then travel the few blocks as a group to the cemetery where presenters are positioned. The entire program lasts about an hour, then everyone goes back to the library for a reception.
