Excerpt from my yet to be written Novel. 'Haunted Hills' By Shamarie Claiborne Luna found the old tree she was hiding against was sufficient enough to catch her breath. She had ended up right beside what was left of an old road, in the heart of what folks in these parts called Hurt Hollers. She had to slow herself and her mind down. Slow deep breaths, she told herself, slow deep breaths. As her breathing slowed, her thoughts become clearer and suddenly she knew she had to make some decisions. As her mind had cleared, she finally smelled the rain in the air and the realization that her body could not take another night unprotected made her already empty stomach, even sicker. Even with the unusually warm weather of late, she knew tonight would be a completely different story.
