The board met at 4pmCT, this afternoon after hearing from the bond holders for Southern Backhoe, who said they are prepared to work quickly to come to an agreement and make a cash settlement to allow CAUD to enter into a contract to finish the job. The Utilities first choice for the project is a Columbia firm, Stotts Construction Company, who installed the water main from the water treatment plant to the Shepherd storage tank and won high praise from landowners, the engineer on the job, and utility management. After many tears, offer to sell goat herd withdrawn By Miss Donna Rieder Hi Ed! Please pull this ad. (No. 11676). After many tears, I've decided that I just can't bear to part with my beloved goats. They are a lot of work, difficult at times, but their antics make me laugh and bring me great joy. I had an unexpected visit yesterday from strangers who are now friends, Tommy and Jenny Bailey. Tommy was out taking pictures of the creek, and I invited them up to my place. Tommy took many pictures of my waterfalls and also the goat kids (I have 13 this year!), and he said he would post some on CM, so be on the lookout! Have a great day! --Miss Donna Rieder 2013-03-19 09:08:18 | Comments | Printable version
Greater Bliss prepares for Greg Thomas' storm sirens tests Progress comes to county folk: Citizens already know to hide under the mattress; now, with Greg's new sirens, households will no longer have to rely on back porch lookouts to know how bad the storm is. Gary will be able to abandon post, get under mattress with Gertrude and Miz Victoria By Victoria Pike News from Farmer Friendly, Progressive, Greater Bliss, Adair Co., KY Oh, I am so excited they are going to be up and working soon. Thanks to Greg for all his hard work in getting them for our county. Now I must get the girls, my cows, ready for the first test. I am hoping they are well enough trained to not get too excited but I will be on standby just in case. Now, if we have a tornado warning, my husband Gary won't have to stand on the porch and look to see during such an event. He can get under the mattress or in the cellar with the rest of us. Last year he stood on the porch as the hailstorm struck yelling reports back to us under the mattress that there was a tornado over Walmart. --Victoria Pike Comments re article 58302 Adair outdoor sirens get first test on Friday March 22 2013 2013-03-19 08:06:28 | Comments | Printable version
