Flag display at OKCC beautiful. Fried Potatoes good, too Dave Rosenbaum writes: The flag display at the entrance to Betty's today was indeed beautiful. Also, the real fried potatoes were delicious. They were just as good for lunch as they were for breakfast. If time had permitted I would have rechecked at supper time just to be sure that they tasted the same, although I am sure they would. -Dave RosenbaumComments re photo 45586 Today Thursday June 14 2012 is Flag Day 2012-06-14 16:05:39 | Comments | Printable version | See topic Food
Wonders if anybody knew where Rosa's Cantina is? Anyway? Comments re photo 45585 World FPS Champion writer Rebecca, Cousin Jenny Fayetteville educated writer's granddad's brother was in the Marty Robbins band Rickie Williams writes: As for the code buried with the comments....Good point, Dr. Williams: People should not have to run down Big Al Owens and ask where Rosa's Cantina is. You'd think 3454 Doniphan Drive would be in their subconscious. But it's no surprise how right Judge Finis was. "People are so mehaineous around here," nothing should come as a surprise. And by the way, I thought he was already St. Marty. Thanks for giving us the Columbia-El Paso connection. At least we've got that going for us. -ED 2012-06-14 16:00:33 | Comments | Printable version

Bea Taylor took The Challenge: and started a 45 year career She graduated from Milltown High School, at Milltown (the one on the Blue River, in Indiana; not Milltown, KY), and went to Lindsey Wilson for a year. When, later, she took a job at Summit Manor, she was in a field she'd always dreamed of following. She knew the new field, and when her Director of Nursing, Vernice Glowacki, insisted she and co-worker Irene Pendleton take the state's Challenge opportunity, and test out to be a fully certified LPN, she did. Both passes and the rest, for Bea Taylor is history. She's still a nurse after 45 years. Click on headline for full story with photo(s) By Dr. Phil Aaron This is the 45th anniversary of Bea Taylor's nursing license. In a procedure which seems unusual today - 45 years ago individuals who worked in health facilities could challenge the state licensure exam if they had worked at least two yearsin a nursing position. Kentucky Color - Late or early? Great flocks of migrating Canada Geese used to be seen as heralds of a season in rural Kentucky. Now small numbers are permanent residents. At Hopewell Acres - the Chowning Place on Crocus Creek in Amandaville, Cumberland County, KY - they are as common as livestock would be on most any South Central Kentucky farm By Billy Joe Fudge, Retired District Forester Kentucky Division of Forestry Late or early, that is the first thought that comes to mind every time I see Canada Geese during late Spring and Summer here in the Great Wooded South.
