Johnie Parson, Adair County, KY (1939-2011)

He was a member of a highly regarded South Adair County family. He was retired after a career as a truck driver for Houchens Industries. He was a member of the Columbia Church of Christ Southside. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was an Adjutant and Treasurer for Disable American Veterans Chapter 72. He will be accorded military honors by Columbia VFW Post 6097

Johnie Parson, 72, of Columbia, KY died Friday, November 25, 2011 at his home after an illness.

Funeral services will be Monday, November 28, 2011 at 11amCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Hugh Gannon and Dan Jones officiating. Burial will be inLoy Cemetery, 1740 Loy Cemetery Road, Columbia, KY, with full Military Honors presented by Columbia, KY VFW Post 6097 Visitation will be after 3pmCT, Sunday, November 27, 2011, at the funeral home.

Vitus (Jack) Goodin, Adair County, KY (1929-2011)

He was a member of large, distinguished Northeast Adair County family. He had been a merchant, and was a farmer and avid outdoorsman. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Purdy Separate Baptist Chuch. His marriage to Geneva Burton Goodin had endured a remarkable 61 years

Funeral services will be Sunday, November 27, 2011 at 2pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Jamie Bryant and Bro. Junior Holmes the officiating clergy. Interment in the Bearwallow Cemetery, 6080 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. Chester (Bill) Wise, Taylor Co., KY (1923-2011)

He was the patriarch of a large, highly regarded family with many relatives in Adair, Taylor and Marion Counties, KY. He leaves 28 living descendants. He was a grocery store owner and operated Campbellsville Upholstery for a quarter of a century. He had been a volunteer at C & S Mission Store for 28 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.

Driver suffers minor injuries in 1 car Crail Hope, KY crash

Vehicle drops off roadway, strikes mailbox, and overturns

METCALFE CO., KY - Trooper Bobby Maxwell is investigating a collision that occurred Friday, November 25, 2011 at approximately 6:10amCT, 4 miles West of Center on Crail Hope Road.

The collision occurred when a 2006 Pontiac was traveling westbound on Crail Hope Road, dropped off the left side of the roadway, struck a mailbox and overturned.

The operator of the vehicle, Glenda Kinslow, age 35, of Hardyville, was belted at the time of the collision, suffered only minor injuries and refused treatment.

59 year old man arrested for sexual contact with 4-yr.-old

Taylor County, KY, arrest follows complaint investigation; after arrest, TCSO report says, it was discovered that the man had similar charges in Maryland and was on the Sex Offender Registry there.

The Taylor County Sheriff's Office arrested a 59 year old Maryland man after investigating a complaint that he had had sexual contact with a 4 year old child. According to the TCSO, the incident took plae in Taylor County on November 23, 2011.

After an investigation, Charles B. Miller, 59 years of age, 10349 Owen Brown Road, Columbia, Maryland, was arrested at a residence in Taylor County, charged with Sexual Abuse 1st Degree, Victim Under/12 Years of Age.

After the arrest, it was discovered that he had similar charges in Maryland and was listed on the Maryland Sex Offender Registry.

The investigating officer was Dickie Benningfield of the Taylor County Sheriff's Department.
