Vitus (Jack) Goodin, Adair County, KY (1929-2011) He was a member of large, distinguished Northeast Adair County family. He had been a merchant, and was a farmer and avid outdoorsman. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Purdy Separate Baptist Chuch. His marriage to Geneva Burton Goodin had endured a remarkable 61 years Vitus "Jack" Goodin, age 82 years of Columbia, KY passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 7:30pmCT, at the Westlake Regional Hospital in Columbia, KY. Funeral services will be Sunday, November 27, 2011 at 2pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Jamie Bryant and Bro. Junior Holmes the officiating clergy. Interment in the Bearwallow Cemetery, 6080 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. The family request visitation after 4pmCT, on Saturday, November 26, 2011, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. Pallbearers: Todd Akin, Christopher Goodin, Tony Grant, Dwight Lawless, Lonnie McAllister, and Kenneth Pyles. Vitus "Jack" Goodin, Adair County, KY (1929-2011) He was born February 19, 1929. He was the son of the late John Alfred and Mary Jane Burton Goodin of Adair County, KY. He died Wednesday, November 23, 2011, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 82 years, 9 months, and 4 days. He was a member of the Purdy Separate Baptist Church and was a retired grocery store owner and a farmer who loved the outdoors and was a US Army veteran. He was preceded in death by two sisters: Queenie Willis and Pauline Gentry; six half sisters: Emmer Simmons, Marthie Burton, Mary Lou Goodin, Ethel Williams, Doshie Willis, Soffie Shepherd; and three half brothers, Lawrence Goodin, Elbert Goodin and Claudy Goodin. Mr. Goodin is survived by his wife of 61 years, Geneva Burton Goodin of Columbia, KY, and the following:
