Letter from Coach Breeze

October 30th, 2025
Dear Staff/Community/Fans:

I want to take a minute to make my yearly address to all of you. We are already in the gym working hard for the upcoming season. We have great young men and a talented roster once again. This season will be exciting and hopefully produce many more memorable moments.

Personally, I am thrilled to return for this season as your coach. I want this program to remain on stable ground and bring pride to the community and school. The last ten years have featured three district championships, four regional semi-finals, one regional runner-up, two regional championships, two state tournament trips, and over 200 wins. We have established a tradition of excellence and a culture of winning.

Finally, what makes this job so special are the fans. The support of the student body and community is unparalleled in much of this state. We will continue to work hard to once again chase the biggest prizes for this school and county. This thing takes all of us. Come to the game, be loud, and be proud! We are AC! ROLL TRIBE!

Your Coach:
Deron Breeze

Letter: Would not consume that mushroom

Marie Freeman writes:
No expert, but I would NOT consume! Known as the vomiter!

"Chlorophyllum molybdites, commonly known as the green-spored parasol, green-gill parasol, false parasol, green-spored lepiota and vomiter, is a common species of mushroom found in temperate and subtropical meadows and lawns. The species is poisonous and causes potentially serious vomiting and diarrhea. It is the most commonly consumed poisonous mushroom in North America, often being misidentified as edible species like Chlorophyllum rhacodes and Macrolepiota procera." Jamestown, KY - Building on the New Kentucky Home initiative, Lake Cumberland State Resort Park will receive a $7.4 million upgrade to enhance the visitor experience and attract new travelers.

"Team Kentucky is committed to investing in our state parks, which play an important role for the communities they serve and are key to Kentucky's thriving tourism industry," said Gov. Andy Beshear. "The improvements at Lake Cumberland State Resort Park will help attract more visitors to our New Kentucky Home by creating a welcoming environment and improved visitor experiences."

The renovation plan includes accommodation improvements, such as upgrades to finishes and furniture in the main lodge, guest areas and all lodge guest rooms. The project is expected to be completed by late 2026. Guests will still have access to cabin and campground rentals, hiking trails, a disc golf course, an outdoor pool and a launching ramp at the state dock during renovations.

LWU students explore study-abroad opportunities in England

By Duane Bonifer

Lindsey Wilson University student Taylor Harvey '26 had read about and seen images of England online. But she didn't appreciate the country until she visited it last May on a school trip.

Harvey was part of a group of Lindsey Wilson students, faculty and staff who participated in an immersive study-abroad program at Harlaxton College, a Victorian manor in England's East Midlands.

On Wednesday, October 29, 2025, the group told current Lindsey Wilson students why they should consider spending a semester studying at Harlaxton, which is located in Grantham and is the University of Evansville's study-abroad center in England.

"You can see these places online, you can read about them, and you can look at pictures," said Harvey, a business administration and Christian ministries double major from Columbia. "But that doesn't substitute actually being in a different country, experiencing different people and different cultures."
