From Grant Loy, Director
Adair County Emergency Management

  • Did you know that just six inches of fast-moving water can knock an adult off their feet?
  • Likewise, 12 inches of fast-moving water can move a vehicle and 2 feet of water can carry off a truck.
With all of that in mind, never drive your vehicle in a flooded area - Turn Around, Don't Drown! - even if you are on foot!
