Donors needed to boost winter blood supply From Debbie Morrow Winter weather and illnesses have had an impact on KBC's blood supply in 2025. As the blood provider for more than 70 hospitals in Kentucky, local patients rely on a healthy blood supply for everything from traumas to cancer treatments, surgeries, diseases, organ transplants and more. There are 2 upcoming KBC blood drives in Adair County:
The blood donation process is easy and has a major impact on the community. Whole blood donations take less than an hour from registration to refreshment. One donation can save up to three local lives. Blood donors must be at least 17 years old (16 with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds, be in general good health, show a photo I.D. and meet additional requirements. Sixteen-year-old donors must have a signed parental permission slip, which can be found at kybloodcenter.org. This story was posted on 2025-02-13 10:26:18
