ACES receives $40K reading grant from KDE

From Holly Trowbridge

Adair County Elementary School received a $40,000 Reading Diagnostic Intervention Fund grant from the Kentucky Department of Education. This grant will provide the school with funds to support teachers in implementing evidence-based instructional strategies that address the diverse needs of primary students who are reading at low levels and need accelerated learning. The grant will assist with the purchase of a new intervention program, giving students more one-on-one time with literacy instructors.

The grant will be available to Adair County Schools during the 2025-26 school year and will contribute to the high quality instruction already taking place in ACES classrooms.

Superintendent Jason Faulkner said of the award, "We are thrilled to receive the Reading Diagnostic Intervention Fund Grant, which will allow us to further empower our students with essential literacy skills. This funding enables us to enhance intervention programs, provide targeted support, and ensure every student has the tools they need to succeed."
