Basketball: LWC dominant over Montreat in CU Classic Campbellsville, KY - The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team opened the Campbellsville University Classic with a 106-61 victory against Montreat (NC) on Friday at the Powell Athletic Center. With the victory, Lindsey Wilson improves to 5-0 on the season. This marks the first time since the 2017-18 season the Blue Raiders have opened a season 5-0. KSP: Wayne Co. man sought in murder investigation From Trooper Scottie Pennington Monticello, KY - The Kentucky State Police, Post 11 London, received a call from Wayne County 911 requesting investigative assistance involving a house fire and that the residence owner could be inside on Old Springs Road in Wayne County just after 1amET on November 8, 2024. The initial investigation reveals Detective Matthew Parmley responded to the residence and spoke with the Wayne County Fire Department, who had located a victim believed to be 64-year-old Mary J. Fulton of Monticello, KY. Her son, 43-year-old Joseph K. Fulton, who resides with her, was missing from the scene and had reportedly made statements claiming he shot his mother and set the house on fire. Mr. Fulton is considered armed and dangerous and has an active arrest warrant. Boil Water Advisory issued for Portland Rd/Flatwoods area Update: Boil Water Advisory lifted for Portland Rd/Flatwoods area From Columbia Adair Utilities District Date Issued 11/7/2024 Time Issued 3:50 P.M. A Boil Water Advisory is in effect for all consumers on 1139-3649 Portland Road, 22-1297 Flatwoods Road, 240-390 Bill Handy Road, 103-580 Kemp Road. The advisory has been issued due to a main line break. Following such an event, the potential exists for bacteriological contamination of the water supply therefore this Boil Water Advisory has been issued as a precautionary measure. Until further notice, boil all water used for drinking and cooking, bringing the water to a rolling boil for three minutes before using. This advisory will remain in effect until the situation has been corrected and test results have shown the water to be of an acceptable quality. Catron and Perdue part of DOCJT Class 552 From Michael Moore Richmond, KY - Gov. Andy Beshear announced on Thursday, November 7, 2024, that 32 law enforcement officers from agencies across the state have graduated from the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training's (DOCJT) basic training academy. Among the graduates were Kendall Catron with the Russell Springs Police Department and Hunter Perdue with the Burkesville Police Department. These law enforcement officers now will return home to serve and protect the commonwealth and create safer communities. "Congratulations to today's graduates, who have dedicated themselves to 20 weeks of extensive basic training," said Gov. Beshear. "Our commonwealth is a better, safer place because these individuals have answered the call to service. Thank you for protecting your communities and our children's futures."
