Poem: All those sunsets

By Christopher Rowe

I've watched the sunset on the Tagus,
Where fadistas sing and sway.
Seen the green flash at Key West,
So beloved of Hemingway.

Beneath the pier at Santa Cruz,
Sea lions' barks mark close of days.
From the mountains in Old Mexico,
I saw brilliant scarlet rays.

From atop the tower Eiffel built,
From his gift, Liberty, too.
Paris, New York Harbor,
The sun sets, dies the blue.

Around the Maker's aging Earth,
All those sunsets, endless charms.
But the sinking suns I love the most,
Are those that grace Rowe Farms.

Prayers requested for Henrietta Scott's family

Sara Scott Browning shared the passing of her mother, Henrietta Scott, over the weekend. She wrote, "After 8 years mourning my father, my mom joined him in Heaven today. I am heartbroken, but I know they are happy to be united again. I am sure they are dancing to some bluegrass music, doing a little pottery, and calling each other "Big Woman" and "Fat Boy" again. The two halves are whole again.

"Arrangements are pending. Until then, please keep our family in your prayers. A huge hole has been made in our hearts."

Update, service details have been announced: Henrietta Scott, 78, Adair Co., KY (1946-2024)
