XC: LWC women compete at Angel Mounds Invitational Evansville, IN - The Lindsey Wilson women's cross country team had six runners compete at the Angel Mounds Invitational on Friday, October 18, 2024. The Blue Raiders finished the 6K race with 417 points to finish 15th in a field consisting primarily of NCAA Division I schools. Lindsey Wilson had an average time of 26:25.6. Senior Olivia Rudder led the team with a time of 24:48.5 finishing 72nd overall. Sophomore Alejandra Recarey finished 74th with a time of 25:12.8. Four other Blue Raider runners competed as well. Eliza Hagens finished 81st (26:12.9), Paula Lopez 91st (26:58.8), Zoe Wilson 99th (28:44.7), and Sancia Smith 103rd (30:23.2). Volleyball: LWC sweeps Battle of Highway 55 Campbellsville, KY - The Lindsey Wilson volleyball team defeated Campbellsville (KY) 3-2 Thursday at Gosser Gymnasium to complete the regular season sweep of the Battle of Highway 55. With the victory, the Blue Raiders remain perfect in Mid-South Conference play improving to 8-0 and 21-8 overall. Lindsey Wilson recorded 65 kills in the match falling just one shy of the season high. Wear Pink today for Breast Cancer Awareness Friday, October 18, 2024 has been proclaimed "Wear Pink Day" by Columbia Mayor Pamela Hoots. It is in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness, and to honor and recognize all those in our community affected by breast cancer. The group Strong Women of Adair County gathered, all wearing pink, at Summit Manor Nursing Home on Thursday to explore what the group can do in future to support the residents. Joan Carol Shaw, 67, Russell County, KY Joan Carol Shaw, of Russell Springs, passed from this life on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Metcalfe Care Center, in Edmonton. She was 67 years of age. Joan was born Thursday, April 18, 1957, in Russell County, daughter of the late Refus Dowell and Ada Mae Coffey Gentry. She was a member of Coffey Hill Friendship Church. Joan loved her family, sons and grandkids with all her heart. She was a homemaker who liked to drink her coffee.
