Madonna Russell, 67, Taylor County, KY (1956-2024) Madonna Russell, 67, of Campbellsville, Kentucky, daughter of the late Olan Hall and Frances Despain Hall was born September 2, 1956, and departed this life on Sunday, July 7, 2024. She worked at UPS for over 30 years until she retired in 2019. She loved animals and riding horses. She was the owner of Happy Tails dog sitting services. She loved her grandkids and spending time with her family. Columbia regional drivers licensing station update We are reminded that Columbia is one of the regional drivers licensing locations in the state with Gov. Andy Beshear's announcement of a new regional location coming to Bardstown. The Columbia location is reportedly moving people through with ease and efficiency for regular licenses - once a person can find the building. The problem here is finding the office once in town. A Horse Cave resident stopped us as we were entering Kay's Cafe this week to ask if she was close - she'd been driving around town until she was frustrated but had previously tried the Bowling Green regional office only to give up due to the long wait. Maxwell Barkley Hancock, 85, Greensburg, KY (1938-2024) Maxwell Barkley Hancock of Greensburg passed away on Tuesday afternoon, July 9th, 2024, at his residence. He was 85 years old. Funeral services will be held at 10amCT on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY, with Rev. Erik Riddle and Rev. Robbie Harmon officiating. Burial will follow in the Haven Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 4pmCT until 8pmCT, and will continue Saturday morning until time for the service. Troop 185 completes 2024 Scout Camp From Ty Coleman Troop 185's Phoenix Patrol has returned from Scout Camp. From June 23rd to the 29th Troop 185 made their week at the Pfeffer Scout Reservation for Boy Scout camp. The boys - Xander, Justin, and Ty, as well as two leaders - joined many other Troops from several states in the area at this camp. The boys had such a fun time, for example.
