Electric vehicle ownership experiences shared By Tom Waggener At five years in with electric vehicles, I look back and am glad I made the journey. The new tax on EV owners in the state is perfectly reasonable since it is applied to road improvements just like those of gas vehicle users. Looking back, I picked up my first electric vehicle, a used Tesla Model S P85, in early September of 2018. It was the biggest car purchase of my life at a pre-trade-in price of $46,000 and a big step, considering I had only owned gas engine cars previously and knew little about the charging network or maintenance of an electric car. The first week of ownership was a trial by fire. That was the week that Dad had a heart attack and was admitted to TJ Samson Hospital in Glasgow. David Owen Absher, 68, Green County, KY (1955-2024) David Owen Absher of Greensburg, son of the late Lander AR Absher and Louise Burton Absher, was born on Friday, February 18, 1955 and passed away early Sunday morning, January 28, 2024 in Greensburg. Kentucky tax filing season begins January 29 From Kinsey Morrison Frankfort, KY - The Kentucky Department of Revenue (DOR) will begin accepting state individual income tax returns today, Monday, January 29, 2024, and will begin processing returns February 5, 2024/ The deadline for Kentuckians to file 2023 returns is Monday, April 15, 2024. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will also begin accepting federal individual income tax returns today. Electronic individual income tax returns typically take four to six weeks to process. Russell county native Alex Popplewell competed with top auctioneers across the state to win the Kentucky State Auctioneer Championship. Scientists have discovered that when we work on a jigsaw puzzle, we utilize both sides of the brain, improving memory, cognitive function and problem solving skills in the process. Harvey Dean Nash descendants gather together on Jan 28 From Annita Dial Some of the descendants of Harvey Dean Nash celebrated his 128th birthday on January 28, 2024, by attending worship services at Russell Heights Baptist Church, where Mr. Nash was a member until his death in 1968. Among those in attendance were Mr. Nash's daughter Shirley York; grandchildren Annita Dial and Melissa Gullion; great-grandchildren Jordan Baker, Cameron Barnett, Kortnei Meador, Jaireka Baldwin, Chance Barnett, Bryan Kelsay, II, and Kantlee Harvey; great-great-grandchildren Laramie Baldwin, Waylon Barnett, Lariat Baker, Gunner Franklin, Brexlei Barnett, and Hemi Baldwin, Bryan Kelsay, III, and Preston Kelsay; in-laws Bobbie Barnett, Ricky Bledsoe, Angela Kelsay and Isaiah Murrell; and friend Jared Murrell. Great-great-grandchild Hemi Storm Baldwin was celebrating her 1st birthday on January 28, 2024.
