ACSO: Adair man arrested for theft of lumber From Sheriff Josh Brockman Adair County Sheriff's Office On April 14, 2023, Adair County Sheriff Josh Brockman initiated an investigation into the theft of harvested timber. White oak logs had been brought into Downey's Saw Mill on KY 61 on the 12th of April and unloaded. The following day, when the logs were going to be taken up, they were gone. The logs appeared to have been dragged around to the back of the mill and loaded. The investigation led to Cumberland County, where the logs were found after they had been sold to a local mill. Sheriff Brockman obtained probable cause to swear out a warrant for the arrest of an Adair County man in relation to the theft. The suspect has been located and arrested on the warrant by the Campbellsville Police Department. General Fund and Road Fund receipts for April 2023 From John Hicks/Greg Harkenrider Frankfort, KY - The Office of State Budget Director reported on Wednesday May 10, 2023, that April's General Fund receipts were the second highest monthly amount ever. They were slightly lower than last April due to the reduction in the individual income tax rate but remain on target to meet the official revenue estimate. Collections for the month of April were $1,788.7 million. Receipts have now grown 4.5 percent for the first 10 months of FY23. The official revenue estimate, modified by legislative actions of the 2023 General Assembly, calls for revenue growth of 3.3 percent for the current fiscal year. To meet the official revenue estimate, receipts can decline 2.1 percent over the last two months of the fiscal year. Miracles do happen as demonstrated in Columbia Helping Ugandan children learn is a goal of two Columbia United Methodist Church members who collected calendars for Dr Ron Kaluya recently. He visited the home of George and Vonnie Kolbenschlag to catch up on news since their last visit and to pick up two large cases filled with calendars to take home to students. Figuring out how the calendars could be shipped led the Kolbenschlags to say, "Miracles do happen." Vonnie writes in the church newsletter, "Just a coincidence? Perhaps.
