ACSO: Adair man arrested for theft of lumber

From Sheriff Josh Brockman
Adair County Sheriff's Office

On April 14, 2023, Adair County Sheriff Josh Brockman initiated an investigation into the theft of harvested timber. White oak logs had been brought into Downey's Saw Mill on KY 61 on the 12th of April and unloaded. The following day, when the logs were going to be taken up, they were gone. The logs appeared to have been dragged around to the back of the mill and loaded.

The investigation led to Cumberland County, where the logs were found after they had been sold to a local mill. Sheriff Brockman obtained probable cause to swear out a warrant for the arrest of an Adair County man in relation to the theft. The suspect has been located and arrested on the warrant by the Campbellsville Police Department.

Brandon Greer, age 33, of Adair County, was lodged in the Taylor County Jail on charges of Receiving Stolen Property over 1,000 dollars. He will be brought back to Adair County to face the charges.

The Adair County Sheriff's Office is continuing the investigation. The Sheriff's Office was assisted by Cumberland County Sheriff Keaton Williams.
